Dr. Efrain Perez, MD received his Medical Degree at the Universidad Central del Caribe in Puerto Rico, and completed his residency for Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University District Hospital at the Rio Piedras Medical Center, in Puerto Rico. He has practiced medicine for 27 years in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is Board Certified by the College of Ob/Gyn (ACOG) and has been recertified. During the last four and a half years, he has also successfully added weight loss assessment to his practice. Dr. Perez performs minimally invasive surgeries, urogynecology and cosmetogynecology surgeries and cares for high-risk obstetrics. He has been formally trained in the DaVinci robotic equipment.
Dr. Perez started his private practice in medicine in 1984 and served as professor in the residency program at the University District Hospital in the Rio Piedras Medical Center in Puerto Rico. He was named Professor of the Year for 1987, 1988 and 1989. He then decided to join the US Air Force in 1990, where he served until 1995 in Homestead Air Force Base and MacDill Air Force Base in Florida. After his military service, he joined a private practice in Edenton, NC until 2001. In May 2001, he joined the private practice of Johnston ObGyn & Associates, P.A. in Smithfield, North Carolina, where he has worked until the present. Here, he has had the privilege of working also as professor for the Family Practice Residency Program of Eastern Carolina University at Greenville for the last 5 years.
Dr. Perez is married and has two daughters. During his free time, he enjoys travelling and gardening. He presently resides in Johnston County, North Carolina. |
